Madabolic General Manager - Elizabeth
THE ROLE
Maybe you already work in fitness, but you want to be on an ambitious team that cares as much as you do. Maybe you have caught yourself thinking about what it would be like to run a small business and lead a team. You want to feel the impact of your work on people’s lives. You’re already passionate about fitness... What if you could live that passion every day?
As General Manager of MADabolic Elizabeth, you run the business. The team, the members, the numbers, and the neighborhood are yours. You will lead a high-performing team that people want to be part of. You will grow the member base by building on the existing community and becoming a can’t-miss presence in the neighborhood. You will lead great classes and a studio built on excellence and care.
ABOUT MAD ELIZABETH
Every MAD studio has a different path to success. Our Elizabeth studio is built on retention and connection. Our member base here is well-established and full of high-achievers, many of whom own their homes, work in demanding careers, and/or have young families. When they find something that works, they stay – they want quality, care, and community over variety
The foundation of this studio is strong: high retention, long-term members, and great staff. We will win through quality over quantity. This starts with giving our members the best hour of their day, bringing our community into the neighborhood, and the neighborhood into our community. Here, a controlled pipeline with strong conversion and retention beats a massive pipeline that doesn’t stick.
WHAT YOU OWN
Your team. Lead, manage, and drive accountability across the studio. This includes a full-time Member Experience Manager – who carries his own metrics – and part-time staff.
Getting the neighborhood in the door. Referrals, local partnerships, events, community presence. Lead acquisition for Elizabeth is yours.
The sales pipeline, end to end. Lead to trial, trial to member. You own the entire journey.
Coaching great classes. Roughly 6-8 classes/week. As the studio lead, you drive the standard on the floor.
Studio performance and culture. The trains run on time. The schedule is covered, the systems get used, and the place feels like somewhere people want to be.
WHAT THE WEEK ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Coaching 6-8 classes.
Time in the building outside your own classes. You know members by name; they know you.
A weekly 1:1 with your MXM, where drive their performance and support their growth.
A weekly/biweekly 1:1 with Ownership to drive your performance and support your growth.
Deliberate time out in the neighborhood — partnerships, events, and the people who have not found us yet.
Lead nurture and member communications – consistent, timely communication with all people connected to our studio.
Quarterly Rocks: three to five priorities that you set, defend, and finish.
Some early mornings, some evenings, some weekends. You will largely be expected to manage your own schedule rather than clocking in and out.
WHO THRIVES HERE
You want to run a business, not work a shift.
You would rather know 300 members by name than churn through 500.
You like being measured. We rely on data and metrics as measures of progress toward our goals.
You want to be coached. We give and receive feedback to make us better. We invest heavily in people development.
You love brand and want to lead it — on the floor, in the neighborhood, at the coffee shop down the street.
You like to get things done. Our business is hard, but not complex. Consistency and discipline win out every time.
This is probably not your role if:
You want to work a 9-5 or be fully remote.
You want every day to be predictable and look the same.
You don’t want to be the one that gets the call if something goes wrong.
You don’t believe in MADabolic’s approach to fitness.
You’re buying time while you look for the job you really want. We want people who want this role, with this team, right now.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience matters, but we hire the person first. If you have the baseline skills and a deep commitment to be successful, we can teach you the job. We’ll hire the person who will be most successful in 6 months over the person who will be most successful yesterday.
Fitness. 1+ year as a trainer in a group setting with weighted, functional movement — or you are a MADabolic member with the skills and fitness to become a trainer. You perform our core movements at a high level and can credibly lead a fitness brand.
Leading people. You have managed people or teams, and ideally you have managed someone who had their own numbers to hit. If you have not, show us how you have held people to a standard anyway.
Selling. You’re comfortable selling something you believe in. You build relationships across a wide range of personalities, you’re an active listener, and you are comfortable asking for the close.
Running on systems. You have worked somewhere with real process and rigor. Ideally, you were the one keeping it tight.
The neighborhood. You enjoy being around people, you love this city, and the idea of building something local genuinely appeals to you.

WHO WE ARE
MADabolic is THE Strength Gym. Founded in Charlotte’s South End in 2011, MADabolic now has roughly 45 locations nationwide. The Charlotte market has four: South End (2011), Elizabeth (2017), NoDa (2023), and SouthPark (2026), with more growth ahead.
Our mission is to be the best in the world at training — and at providing a Third Place — for the everyday athlete and high achiever.
Three things make us different:
Strength. The base of our program. Intentional programming with real weights, designed to make you stronger.
Structure. Five movements, five lanes, 52-week programming. Structure makes repetition possible; repetition makes you strong. The floor is built for scalability and progression, with a level of organization that promotes coaching over chaos.
Accountability. A one-on-one training experience delivered in a group setting. Form is the keystone of sustainable, injury-free progress. Clients and coaches hold themselves and each other to the highest standard.
Our core values:
Better is Better. We are excellent in everything we do.
Be the Best You. We commit to getting better every day — as people and as professionals.
Be Bold. We stand up for what is right and take Extreme Ownership.
MADfam First. We put team and members first, creating a Third Place that fosters connection and builds strong people.
Work. Rest. Repeat. We grind. We make time for the people and things that matter. We find joy in life.
